Glycols are fundamental building blocks of the chemical industry with versatile uses. Mono ethylene glycol (MEG), mono propylene glycol (MPG) and diethylene glycol (DEG) may look similar but differ significantly in their applications.
Where are they used?
MEG stands out in antifreeze, PET resin and polyester fibre production. MPG is a lower-toxicity glycol preferred in food, pharma and cosmetics. DEG is used as an intermediate in polyester polyols, plasticizers and solvent applications.
