A crystalline powder with excellent chelation properties. It is used in cold-water systems, oil refineries, oilfield pipelines and the metal sectors. In textiles it is used as a chelating agent in weaving and dyeing processes.

DTPMP can be used as a scale and corrosion inhibitor, particularly in alkaline circulating cold water without additional pH adjustment, in cold-water systems and boiler water. It is used as a peroxide stabilizer for hydrogen peroxide at high temperatures, as a chelating agent in the weaving and dyeing industry, as a pigment dispersant and as an oxygen delignification stabilizer. It is also used in electroplating, papermaking, metal acid cleaning and cosmetics.

Hydroxyethylidene diphosphonic acid (HEDP) is an odourless organic phosphonate. It is a good sequestrant and is highly effective against calcium, iron, copper and zinc ions. It performs well in water treatment plants, maintains its stability in the presence of chlorine and can dissolve oxidation on metal surfaces. It is a good scale and corrosion inhibitor with good stability at high pH values. It is used in water cooling and treatment systems, swimming-pool detergents, metal surface treatments and the textile sector.
