1,4-Butanediol (BDO) is colourless and odourless. It is fully soluble in water and other organics. It has a wide range of uses in the chemical industry: in the production of plastic granules, polyurethanes, solvents, electronic chemicals and elastic fibres. It is also widely used as a chemical bond for urethane thermoplastics, plasticizing polyester, paints and coatings, thermal solvents (copolyester) and solvent-based adhesives.

Used as an intermediate for polyester polyols, unsaturated polyester resins, buffet heaters, morpholine production, paints and coatings, plasticizers, liquid laundry detergent, cement grinding and polyethylene glycol. It is also used as a humectant in the tobacco industry, as snow spray on aircraft and railways, and as a thinner in the glue industry.

Mono ethylene glycol is a fundamental glycol widely used in antifreeze and coolant fluids, in PET resin and polyester fibre production, in heat-transfer fluids and as a humectant.

It is used in flavourings, perfumes and syrups; as a coolant in refrigeration systems, as a fluidizer and hydraulic fluid. It serves as a stabilizer in textiles, a solvent and wetting agent in food, a preservative in the pharmaceutical and health sector, in creams and sun lotions, and as a de-icer in vehicle brake systems and on aircraft runways.
