Methoxy propanol is mainly used in the manufacture of propylene glycol methyl ether acetate (PMA); it is also used in industrial and commercial products including paints, varnishes, inks, synthetic resin and rubber adhesives, and automotive and oven cleaners. It is also used as a cleaning agent in the LCD and electronics industry.
