It serves as an organic additive in the grinding of cement clinker, as an active ingredient in ear drops and various cosmetic products in medicine, and as a pH stabilizer across many industries. It is also used as an intermediate in petroleum demulsifiers, a catalyst for polyurethane resins and in rubber vulcanization triggers.
